If a French woman is pregnant and does not want to be a mohter, she has another option besides abortion. In what the French call "birth under X", she can give birth in a hospital, but her name will not appear in the birth certificate. But what about the father of the child? Up to yesterday, only mothers could uncover the secret of the parents name while giving birth to a child under X. But the law changed. Grand-parents now can as well, when they think they are related to a child born under X, ask for blood test to recognized the child as their grand-child.
